Ocean Inspired Decor
Summertime always makes me think of warm sand and sparkling waves. When it’s hot out, sometimes going down to the beach is the only thing that can cool a person down. Wouldn’t it be nice to bring some of that cool beach atmosphere into your home?
Idea # 1 – Texture and Materials
“Beachy” style is really about the materials and different textures that are brought into the space. Anyone can paint a room light blue, but not everyone has the right accessories to make the theme shine. In the picture above, the wood tones and rattan furniture bring warmth to a rather cool space.
Idea # 2 – More than Blue
Even if you don’t like teal, you can still get that beach living look! In the picture above, orange is used in their design. This room still ends up feeling beachy because of the neutral colors in the room and the rattan on the coffee table.
Idea # 3 – Go Nautical
Red and navy blue are other colors that could be used in this kind of design because of their nautical feel. These darker colors also help bring a more masculine feel to the space. Like the design above, you can use mostly neutral fabrics and colors and add pops of your navy and red in the accessories. If you want to go bold, paint a side table bright red!
Idea # 4 – Patterns
Stripes is a pattern that is very often used in a beachy feeling room. Try neutral sand or bright turquoise stripes on a large piece of furniture (shown above) or on an accent wall to create a large impact.
Idea # 5 – Easiest Way to Add Beachy Style
Switch out some of your throw pillows for some with sea creatures or a chevron pattern on them, like the ones above. Add a few seashells here and there for an easy application of beachy style!
